Title:

Chemistry in the Oil Industry XI: Regulation Meets Innovation – Moving Forward

Introduction:

The primary objective of the symposium is to showcase new chemistry albeit within an increasingly regulated marketplace.

REACH and OSPARCOM Regulations are with us and two sessions of the symposium will focus on what the current regulations are and some of the thinking behind how legislation may develop in the future. Meeting REACH requirements can be very expensive for raw material producers, formulators and end-rs and speakers will show how companies can work in SIEFs and Consortia to minimize the cost of their businesses becoming REACH compliant.

In addition, the symposium will cover all aspects of chemistry in the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industries. There will be a particular focus in the upstream sector on innovative chemical solutions which can be applied to extend the economic life of mature wells or to enhance the profitability of new fields while meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulation.
